QC Process Manager (C2) -(Kuils River)

DEPARTMENT: Distribution Centre

ROLE OVERVIEW

To supervise the operational performance of the quality department and coach direct reports with regards to certain technical skills

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To identify, document, develop, test, support, and implement systems and processes that will support and enable business users to deliver key business objectives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the achievement of the Quality department’s daily productivity and quality targets
  • Makes selection and appointment recommendations
  • Applies process – contracts performance expectations with direct reports and conduct regular performance feedback and – appraisal discussions
  • Takes corrective actions with regard to non-performance (accuracy; absenteeism; etc.)
  • Facilitates development and implementation of PDP’s of direct reports
  • Coach direct reports’ technical skills
  • Facilitates teamwork and motivated workforce – staff morale
  • Department operational people capacity planning
  • Planning – Operational workflow plans
  • Optimized quality processes and methodologies
  • Operational performance monitoring – Monitors department’s performance on a daily basis; identifies issues  and takes corrective action if required
  • Finalises orders bypassing or holding
  • Resolves operational issues
  • Liaises with stakeholders re operational distribution issues (Central Office QC; Suppliers; PMD Outsort; DC Coordinators – Receiving) 

 

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Related tertiary qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in clothing manufacturing/garment construction
  • Retail Quality department experience
  • Background in Shoes, Hardware, Textiles (bedding) and clothing, etc. will be an advantage
  • Computer Literacy: MS Office
  • Competencies required: Delegating, Devotion to quality, Structuring, Cooperation, Providing feedback, Assertiveness, Drive, Integrity
  • Communication skills and Decision-making skills and stress tolerance
  • Proficient in English
